# Pinterest Recently Viewed & History

## 🔍 How to See Your Pinterest Search History

The one history feature that works consistently.

### Desktop

1. Click the **search bar** on Pinterest
2. Recent searches appear in the dropdown **before you type**
3. Click any to run it again

### Mobile app

1. Tap the **search icon**
2. Your recent searches appear immediately below

### How to clear it

Hover (desktop) or long-press (mobile) a search term — an **✕** appears to remove it. Some versions also offer a "Clear all" option in the dropdown.

## 👀 Finding a Pin You Viewed But Didn't Save

If you didn't save it, Pinterest gives you very little. Work through these in order of likelihood:

### 1. Check your browser history

Often the fastest route. Pinterest pin pages have distinct URLs.

* Press **Ctrl + H** (Windows) or **Cmd + Y** (Mac)
* Search for `pinterest.com/pin`
* Scan by the time you were browsing

### 2. Re-run the search that found it

Pinterest's results are reasonably stable for the same query in a short window. Repeat the exact search and scroll to roughly where you were.

### 3. Check the board or profile you came from

If you remember the source, open it directly and browse.

### 4. Search by image

## ✅ The Reliable Fix: Keep Your Own History

This is the real answer, and it's the reason many people install SortPin in the first place.

### ⏳ Important: the 7-day window

SortPin clears collected data after **7 days** so the local database doesn't grow forever.

That means it's an excellent **short-term safety net** — "I saw that pin on Tuesday" is solved — but not a permanent archive unless you act:

## 🗑️ How to Delete Your History

### Pinterest search history

Remove individual terms with the **✕** in the search dropdown, or use the clear-all option where available.

### Pinterest activity data

Pinterest's data controls live in **Settings → Privacy and data**. Options vary by region and account type — that's where account-level data requests and controls appear.

### SortPin collected data

Open the **Collect** tab → **Delete data**. This clears everything immediately rather than waiting for the 7-day cleanup.

### "Recently viewed isn't showing on Pinterest"

Search history is tied to your session and account. Clearing cookies, signing out, or switching devices can wipe or hide it.

### "I can't find a pin I saw yesterday"

Try browser history first (**Ctrl + H** → search `pinterest.com/pin`). If SortPin was collecting, search the Pins dashboard instead.

### "SortPin isn't recording my browsing"

Check **Collect** tab → **Smart Collect** → the relevant toggle is on, and the master **Turn On** switch at the top of the panel is enabled.
